Dr. Andrew Rumbaugh

Dr. Rumbaugh brings more than 25+ years of educational background to his role as Administrator of Faith Christian Academy. He began his teaching career as an elementary music teacher in Pennsylvania then moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to continue teaching for the next 7 years in Christian schools in Raleigh and Wilmington, NC.  Leaders in Christian schools encouraged him to further his studies in education.  In 2000 he graduated with a master’s degree in Christian school administration.  During his last year, he and his wife felt called to serve overseas in the field of education. In 2000 his family flew to Amman, Jordan with two children.

The Rumbaugh family lived in the Middle East for nine years, 5 years in Amman, Jordan and 4 years in Beirut, Lebanon. In Amman, he was a principal of a school for missionary kids from all over the world and a high school principal at a school with more than 1,300 students in Beirut.

His family enjoyed exploring numerous biblical sites there and traveling throughout the region, the Mediterranean and parts of Europe. They had two more children, and Mr. Rumbaugh became Dr. Rumbaugh after finishing his five year doctorate program overseas. This new degree opened up doors for their family to eventually move to Orlando, FL for him to become the head of FCA.

Dr. Rumbaugh brings a unique perspective to the field of education after living and working in multiple states, countries, and experiencing different cultures. He holds a B.S. in Music Education, an M.A. in Christian School Administration and a Ph.D. in Christian School Leadership. He is married to Karen, who also works at FCA, and has two sons, two daughters and a daughter-in-law. They love to host international students in their home, as well as numerous guests who want to vacation in beautiful, sunny Florida!

Our History

Faith Christian Academy opened in 1979 as a ministry of Faith Assembly of God. Pastor Carl Stephens, an advocate of Christian education, has faithfully supported the academy from its inception. Under the leadership of administrators Mrs. Margaret Hunt, Dr. Charles Smith, and Dr. Andrew Rumbaugh, FCA has become a reputable, college prep school with an enrollment of 680 students. In 2012, the church and academy moved to new facilities at 9307 Curry Ford Road. The academy has grown from an initial graduating class of 8 students to regularly graduating more than 50 students per year.

Faith Christian Academy and Faith Christian Preschool together serve more than 850 students. Students experience weekly chapel services held by the leadership teams at Faith Assembly with an integrated approach to ministry unlike other Christian schools across the country. Living a spirit-filled life is one of the deepest priorities at the academy. Students live fuller, richer lives when they have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
