Leaders in Christian schools encouraged him to further his studies in education. In 2000 he graduated with a master’s degree in Christian school administration. During his last year, he and his wife felt called to serve overseas in the field of education. In 2000 his family flew to Amman, Jordan with two children.
The Rumbaugh family lived in the Middle East for nine years, 5 years in Amman, Jordan and 4 years in Beirut, Lebanon. In Amman, he was a principal of a school for missionary kids from all over the world and a high school principal at a school with more than 1,300 students in Beirut.
His family enjoyed exploring numerous biblical sites there and traveling throughout the region, the Mediterranean and parts of Europe. They had two more children, and Mr. Rumbaugh became Dr. Rumbaugh after finishing his five year doctorate program overseas. This new degree opened up doors for their family to eventually move to Orlando, FL for him to become the head of FCA.
